Michael Blake

Celebrated Author, Academy Award Winner, philanthropist, Mustang advocate and public speaker,   Michael Blake is best known for his novel and Academy Award winning film, Dances With Wolves, starring and directed by Kevin Costner.

A compassionate man, Blake is an outspoken philanthropist and advocate for the survival of our planet, our wild horses and all species and has recently formed The American West Party, a non-political, non-denominational group of like-minded individuals who share common beliefs and tenets to preserve our Western heritage and culture, our wild horses, animals and our environment.

    “People are very stressed and emotional over our current economic and ecological strife. I believe they do not know how and where to express their emotions causing them to feel isolated and alone.  My goal with The American West Party is to unite those folks into a constructive, positive group that elevates their spirits and focus’ their emotions, ideas and activities on a common cause: saving our planet, our animals, ourselves while preserving the legacy and history of the American West”, says Blake.
